  • Scholarships and Awards (*supported solely by member contributions)
    • Anthony R. Dees Scholarship*: Waives registration fee for the SGA-sponsored Pre-Conference Workshop
    • Brenda S. Banks Scholarship*: Waives registration fee for the SGA-sponsored Spring/Summer Workshop
    • Carroll A. Hart Scholarship*: Provides noncredit tuition for the Georgia Archives Institute, and a year's membership in SGA
    • Edward Weldon Scholarship*: Provides early-bird registration fee for a SGA member to attend the Society of American Archivists (SAA) annual meeting in August
    • Larry Gulley Scholarship*: Waives registration fees at the annual Fall Meeting, provides monetary supplement for expenses associated with attending the annual Fall Meeting, and provides a year's membership in SGA
    • David B. Gracy II Award*: Annual cash prize recognizing a superior contribution to Provenance: Journal of the Society of Georgia Archivists
    • SGA Fellows Awards: Recognizes nominee's involvement and work in SGA; education, leadership, advocacy and/or scholarly activities; and impact of the nominee's work on the Georgia archival community.
    • Taronda Spencer Award: Provides funding to attend the SGA Annual Meeting for individuals currently enrolled as a junior or senior at an HBCU with a demonstrated interest in Archives or students of African-American, Asian/Pacific-Islander, Latino, or Native American descent currently enrolled in a graduate program with a component in archival studies.

Membership Rates

Membership in SGA is based on the calendar year (January-December). Join in January to make the most of your membership benefits. SGA accepts new member applications until October 1 for the current year.

Student
$10.00 Basic membership for full-time or part-time students.  Proof of enrollment required.  Includes all of the benefits listed above. (4 year limit)   Please email proof of enrollment to the SGA Administrative Assistant at admin@soga.org.
Individual
$35.00 Basic membership category for one person.   Includes all of the benefits listed above.
Contributing   $45.00 Includes basic membership for one person and provides opportunities for increasing levels of support for SGA programs.
Sustaining
$60.00 Includes basic membership for one person and provides opportunities for increasing levels of support for SGA programs.
Patron $100.00  Includes basic membership for one person and provides opportunities for increasing levels of support for SGA programs.
Corporate $200.00  Includes basic membership for one corporate entity. Includes benefits listed above, excepting voting privileges. Also includes an advertisement in the SGA Magazine (full page) & a spotlight on SGA's social media accounts.
