Web Site Editor
- Purpose: Maintains and manages the Society’s web site [www.soga.org] and listserve.
- Term of Office: Three years. Appointed by the President with Executive Board approval.
- Voting Status: Non-voting member
- Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Attends four Executive Board meetings and the Annual Business Meeting and presents written and verbal reports on activities at the meetings.
- Maintains a consistent look and feel of the site, including style sheets, colors and fonts.
- Maintains a consistent look and feel of the site, including style sheets, colors and fonts.
- Designs and layouts pages:
- creates templates as needed
- codes and programs the site
- reviews navigation and makes changes as needed
- downloads the raw logs and generates reports based on the logs
- solicits content for the site
- Makes revisions to the website when appropriate from information received from various officers or committee chairs.
- Maintains the Society’s listserve which includes automatically adding new members to the listserve (unless they have noted otherwise), monitoring the listserve for inappropriate messages or subscribers, and reporting technical problems to the service provider.
- Maintains domain name and server space and ensures payment of related fees.
- Consults with Treasurer by December 1 to determine the SGA Website budget for the next fiscal year.
- Forwards to the SGA Archivist any non-current files and turns over the current files to the incoming Website Editor.
