Slavery and Freedom in Savannah Symposium

The Slavery and Freedom in Savannah Symposium, presented by Telfair Museums, will be led by national scholars Dr. Daina Berry, University of Texas at Austin and Dr. Leslie Harris, Emory University, the program will begin with a keynote lecture by Berry and Harris and take attendees through a day and a half of lectures, presentations and speakers about slavery and freedom in Savannah, from the Colonial era through Reconstruction. The materials utilized and presented at the symposium will be published and used for the reinterpretation of exhibits and tours at the Owens-Thomas House and throughout the city.
