Funding Resources and Grant Writing
Wednesday, November 13, 2002

Objectives: This workshop introduces archivists to a variety of funding resources available in Georgia and explains the grant writing procedure whereby monies might be accessed.  Representatives from five organizations that award grants to private and public institutions will explain their missions to workshop participants and distribute materials regarding their programs.  Given the various needs of archives, authorities on museums and exhibit design, historic preservation, records management, programming in the humanities, and nonprofit foundations, will discuss how archivists might tap these resources.  By explaining their grant writing procedures, instructors of the workshop will assist archivists in their search for financial support.  Participants will receive grant writing materials, limited assistance in designing grant applications, and personal contact with representatives from granting agencies.

Participants: Archivists interested in accessing grants from a variety of sources.
