Job Title: Head Librarian, ACA Library
Place of Employment: Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Atlanta
Years in Current Position: 7 months
Job Description: I provide administrative supervision, direction, scheduling, and planning in a stand-alone art and design college library environment. I work in close collaboration with the dean of library services in Savannah to maintain communication and integration with staff, resources, collections and services among all SCAD libraries (Hong Kong campus library is opening this fall). I also oversee the staff activities related to development and promotion of artist’s book and rare book collections in Atlanta. SCAD has archival collections in Savannah but not in Atlanta (sadly) so to stay connected to archival work I am the Chair of the Inman Park Neighborhood Association Archives (my “historic” neighborhood in Atlanta).

Favorite Pastimes:
Working on my old house
Traveling
Comments on the Profession Today:
I am inspired by initiatives such as the Connecting to Collections collaboration between museums, archives and libraries through IMLS: http://www.imls.gov/collections/
I hope these kinds of partnerships continue to be visible in our professions and at our conferences.
